R.S.L. INAUGURAL DINNER Gnowangerup was one of the first RSL’s in the state to be formed. Tommy Stewart, called for the formation of the RSL in 1919 and before the end of that year the branch was operating. Soon after Sam Stewart became secretary and it is believed he remained an office bearer at the RSL until his passing.This photo was taken of the Gnowangerup R.S.L. Inaugural Dinner in 1920 held in the Memorial Hall, Note the guns affixed to the back wall. These were taken down during WW2 and used by the VDC for training purposes.
